I have a strong history of bridging users expectations of computers and technology. I am the one that people call when their Macs and Windows machines cause problems (or when they get a new camera, phone or camera-phone and can’t figure out how to remove the date). Usually, I make them comfortable with the technology, make them understand that it’s not their fault and send them away loving their device.
I work well with all types of people and can usually turn a problem into an opportunity. I have extensive experience working with users of every level of experience. I also can provide consultation, training and guidance for use of social networking sites, web interfaces or online training.
I have worked with teams of developers on large scale projects, as well as designed websites from start to finish from my own studio. I have created flash intros for websites, presentations, slideshows and interactive videos.
During 2008, I worked on media sites for large events, such as the Show Village 2009 site, developed with Flash elements and incorporating HTML, CSS and javascript. From 2006 to 2008, I worked as the full-time Web Editor at Family Office Exchange, maintaining a private website, electronic communications and employee intranet. I also provided media support for their weekly webinars, sending announcements, invitations and archiving video and audio to website and CD.
I have monitored user groups for professionals, hobbyists, designers, travel enthusiasts and technical online communities. I have experience conducting Q&A and user surveys, working with the research, marketing and IT teams. I also comprised web event agendas, complete with user maps of the event and surrounding areas of interest on the member’s sites, including last minute scheduling and changes.
