Patch Installation
|
Applying patches on the WSM using a
CD is done via the ELMT interface (at
the NSM).
CONTACT MOTOROLA FOR THE LATEST PATCH.
APPLYING PATCHES ON THE
WSM
- Use PuTTY to login the WSM as user:
elmt (See Appendix D Login the WSM
via PuTTY ). The password is z2cb3Xp9
.
- Make sure the WSM is stopped (See
Appendix D ) and IP security is also
disabled.
- Insert the patch CD into the WSM
CD tray. If there is already a CD in
the tray, follow the instructions in
Appendix D to eject the CD. Forcing
the CD tray to eject by placing a paperclip
or similar object in the CD tray hole
will not correctly unmount the CD drive.
- Choose “Patch Menu”.
- Choose “Install Patch”.
- You should see a patch contains the
following text: “R01.05.11_XX” (Where
“X” is the Patch Number) Use the arrow
keys to highlight this patch.
- Hit [Return] .
- Confirm the patch by using the arrow
keys to highlight “Yes” and then hit [Return]
.
- After the patch is successfully installed,
it should display “Successfully installed
patch”.
- The WSM will now reboot. You will
lose your elmt connection, that is
normal.
- NOTE: To eject the CD from the CD-ROM
drive, follow the instructions in the
Appendix D .
